Buyer’s Info

We have a tiered system of entry for buyers at Battersea. Anyone can come in at any time for the entry fee, you do not need trade id to get in. Sellers are not permitted to look around, buy or sell until 11.30am, so if you pay £5 to get first look you really do get first look. To be amongst the first buyers onsite costs £5 for entry at 11.30am. You will find some sellers already onsite at this time (usually around 50) The sellers onsite are ʻpremiumʼ pitch holders, they have paid more than most for their pitch and usually have higher quality goods for sale. The point of 11.30am entry is to be onsite as the majority of sellers arrive.

Slightly cheaper option is at £3 at 12pm. A long queue forms at this time but we clear it as quickly as we can. Around half of our sellers have arrived by this time, with the rest coming onsite over the next hour. Many people pay £3 right up to and even after 1.30pm just to ʻjumpʼ the queue of buyers waiting to come in at 1.30pm.

The general public come in at 1.30pm for 50p, there is a very long queue to get in at this time. Our gate is manned by many staff who get people in as quickly as possible but can take some time. Small children go free, we no longer set an age limit for free child entry since far too many people will happily hold up the queue to argue that their 6ft tall son with a moustache is only 9 years old so they donʼt have to pay for him!! Free entry will be automatically applied by our gate staff. We have change at the gate and accept payment in notes or silver but do not accept ‘copper’. Anyone on crutches/sticks or in a wheelchair may come to the front of the queue. Please note this does not apply to ‘blue badge’ holders in general and entry fees will still apply.

Battersea Boot is held in the grounds of Harris Academy, 401 Battersea Park Road, London SW11 5AP.

The entrance to the boot sale is at the back of the school on Dagnall Street. This can be reached by turning off Battersea Park Road into Culvert Road and taking the first left into Dagnall Street, the entrance is along on the left.

If you arrive on foot, there is a foot path running between the church and the school from Battersea Park road to Dagnall Street. At the end of the footpath turn right, the entrance is at the end of the wall.

Onsite Facilities

We have the usual facilities you’d expect to find; A decent burger van selling the usual hot dogs, burgers, hot and cold drinks. We also have a regular home made cakes stall, and a seller with home made sweet and savory pastries and pasties. We often have fresh fruit and veg and alternative food traders such as curry, thia food etc.

Toilets are available in the main building, you need to get a hand stamp when you go out to ensure free re-entry without queueing or paying again.

Battersea is a hardstanding tarmac site so is wheelchair accessible. Buyers in wheelchairs can come to the front of the queue for priority entry without queueing up, entry fee still applies. Sorry, but this does not apply to ‘blue badge’ holders, only people in wheelchairs or on crutches/sticks are given priority entry, everyone else must join the queue please.

Customer parking is available in Culvert House on the corner of Culvert Road and in the car park at the front of the school on Battersea Park Road. Street parking is currently without restrictions but wardens patrol the area on Sunday’s and will ticket inconsiderate parking on corners, double yellow lines and residents parking bays. Please do not park in the residential side streets off of Dagnall Street. There is lots of parking further along Culvert Road and in Sheepcote Lane, it is a 2 or 3 minute walk away but easier than driving around in circles looking for somewhere closer!
